Udemy {Product Growth}

“I bridge Udemy brand, product, and growth to drive measurable outcomes.”

Overview & Scope

Starting in Q3 2024, Udemy began evolving its visual presence to better support product growth across Consumer (MX), Udemy Business, and in-product experiences. With design resources limited and teams moving quickly, maintaining alignment across platforms was challenging. This case study reflects how I helped shape a more approachable and modern design direction—introducing rounded forms, bento-style layouts, and bolder color usage—that influenced Udemy’s visual presence across businesses. As a senior individual contributor, I applied multi-disciplinary design skills across brand, marketing, and product surfaces to support high-priority growth initiatives while balancing strategy and hands-on execution.

Goal & Design Proposal

The goal was to evolve Udemy’s visual expression to better support product growth by making experiences feel more engaging and current, without forcing strict visual uniformity. I focused on establishing a clear and adaptable design direction that teams could apply across different contexts, helping product and subscription initiatives in 2025 feel more confident and compelling.

Creative Direction & Application

The creative direction emphasized warmth, clarity, and visual rhythm through rounded layouts, bento-inspired structures, and more expressive color. This direction was applied across Consumer, Udemy Business, and in-product experiences, and later influenced subscription-focused creative work. I contributed across lifecycle and growth design, product GTM, campaigns, and in-product experiences, working closely with PMM, PDE, and marketing partners while independently driving design execution.
